David Hoyt is the Executive Director of School Boards for Academic Excellence, a national nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering school board members to reassert academic excellence in America’s schools. He has served in management and fundraising positions with The Heartland Institute, Young Americans for Liberty, and other like-minded organizations. With his wife, he cofounded Cornerstone Classical Academy in Jacksonville, Florida, a classical charter school of more than 900 students. In 2023, Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed David to the Florida Historical Commission. David’s editorials have appeared in Fox News, American Thinker, RedState, and other outlets. He has been interviewed on various national and international programs for television, radio, and podcasts. He is an active member and volunteer with his church. In his spare time, David is writing a book on political philosophy, currently on pace to be published in 2024.
